The System
The 24 hour vending machine looks like a cash machine, giving customers access to books, audio books and DVD's 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without the need to increase opening hours or additional staffing costs.
From the touch-screen your customers can can choose from a variety of media available. The machine then works with a card reader, which once inserted by the user and verified by the machine, the user is then supplied with the item requested. What's better is that once the item is returned it is available immediatley to be borrowed by the next user.
A fantastic round the clock library service which assists in gaining new customers who otherwise would be unable to get to the library within normal opening hours - thus increasing the borrowing rate enormously.
